Galaxy Champion FUN ZONE™ is a two-person exhibition by Qendrim Hoti and Max Lupo which uses the video game technology of the past three decades to create an interactive installation.
By using hacked and modified video games, we have tried to insert personal migrant histories into existing virtual worlds as a means to recontextualize their familiar contents. We invite visitors to play these games as a way to explore these alternate characters and environments.
In particular I'm excited for this show for three reasons:
- It is an opportunity to hack a little piece of video game history and insert myself as a character
- For a certain piece in the show I got to collect some stories from my family's history, and,
- The games are just plain pretty fun to play
